THE CAKE IS A REFERENCE TO MEDIA, POLITICS AND ALL OF YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Video, 6 min Loop

2017

The video representing a person eating cake with bare hands is projected, perhaps, higher than usually on the wall - looking down at you as you are looking up at it. The setting is referencing still life and the feeling perhaps somewhat extravagant - greed, the white and the cream.

We are socially codependent on moral, shame and experiences of guilt, but do we do more than just function within them? Gluttonize and gloat in others moral dilemmas, but also in the qualms of self pity. When does it start to eat us and vice versa? “I feist your shame, your guilt, your conscience - You feist on my shame, my guilt, my conscience”.
